Another attempt at a freeform poem

Avon's early thoughts about Cally.

Avon and Cally, Part 1

Woman
beating
the arrogant bastard.
Perfect.
She draws
my attention.
Piques my curiosity.
I stare.
An alien?
Wariness.
A rebel,
should snarl,
but keep staring.
I ask questions.
She is
Loyal.
Avenges.
I understand.
Anna.

Technically proficient.
Impressive.
Intelligent.
Quiet.
Appreciated.
Work well
together.
Comfortable.
Unlike
with some.
Sneer at Blake.

Finally
someone
I can get along with
on this ship.
Pity
she is
a rebel.
Hopeless disease of
dreamers,
mindless violence.
But she
is promising.
Beautiful.
Bears watching.

She comes
shows interest in my work.
Stunned, I stare.
Beautiful, interested.
Interesting.
Must
stop
staring.

Connection made.

She acts strange,
voice odd.
Is a threat.
Of course.
Irony.
Must stop
her.
Cold, hard logic.
Shut her out.
Good thing
I never
let her in.
Trust is only
dangerous
if you rely
on it.

It was an alien.
Not her.
But
she is a weakness.
Susceptible to be
used
to harm.
I should
be wary.
Am wary.
But
I stare
when she appears.
My heart beats
faster.
Am speechless
again.
She has
captured me.
