Hmm, I think I'll do a fic where Blake is finally made to pay for all the evil things he did in the name of being good and the self-serving things he did.

And maybe one where Vila finally has to face the music for betraying everyone in Hostage and trying to dump Avon, Cally and Blake at Star One and Tarrant later, all just to save his own neck. I wonder if that went through Avon's mind in Orbit.

There are far too many fics where Avon is made to pay for his sins. You almost get the idea that he was the only one who did anything bad and the others were all his victims.

Well it's time to have a little parity. Just fair warning. If you don't feel like reading then don't. I'm going to write them anyway.

I saw that one but didn't read it because I actually like Vila and didn't want to read about the crew wanting to get rid of him :P

I will read it now though.

There's a reason: that something else may trigger the panic that being locked up in a room with little air did. Hey, he's still there at the end! Anyway, I thought you'd have dumped him first chance you got.

BTW I should add a warning to that story for domestic violence as that could be a trigger for people.

No. I do like Vila and IMO, I think Avon did too. I would never get rid of him. The characters I've brought back in my stories are ones I like and appreciate.

I think if Avon didn't like Vila, he wouldn't have brought Vila down with him on so many missions even though one of the others would have been a much better and safer choice.

But I do think Avon was very aware of how far he could trust Vila to back him and it must have gone through his mind when their lives hung in the balance in Orbit and he wondered if Vila might do the same thing to him given half the chance, given Vila's track record. To me, it may explain why Avon acts so jumpy, as if he expected Vila to jump out at him at any moment. Did he expect Vila to make the same choice as he has before to save his own life? Vila may have been more passive in his betrayals but he is still capable of killing face-to-face and has done it before.

Just like speculation about Avon in that scene. Would he have done it if he had found Vila? I don't think he wanted to. He certainly grasped on to the first even impossible solution rather than space Vila. But honestly, if push came to shove, would he have been able to do it? Track recordwise, Avon has tried to leave people in the past but has never been able to go through with it in the end. But I still can't say for certain that given the right circumstances and the right stressor, that he wouldn't have.

I think that all of them were capable of it given the right circumstances and the right stressors. Even Blake. For him, if the choice would be to give up the life of a friend or give up a chance to destroy the Federation. Blake made his choice in PP. He was very capable of 'shoving them all in the airlock and spacing them' just for a chance to destroy the Federation. That is what he knowingly did in PP.

Pressure Point? I hate the way Blake deliberately lies to them there.

I'm not sure whether Avon could have gone through with it. I certainly don't think Vila's aggressive enough to; his first thought is to hide, and I don't think he'd think things through like Avon. He'd be hoping desperately to survive, that Avon would think of something, that where there's life there's hope, but Avon would be logical. That logic did war with his emotions though.

When did Vila kill anyone face-to-face? He certainly killed a lot of people with the neutron blasters. He does shoot at a trooper in Games, I think, but 1) attracts the trooper's attention, 2) closes his eyes, and 3) the trooper isn't there afterwards. So I tend to think it was practice, using a stn setting. After all, he objected to killing "Cancer" even though he thought he was an assassin.

Vila stabbed that guy with a knife in Cygnus. He was shocked after and dropped the knife. And yup, he does shoot at a trooper in Games. So he is capable of shooting at people though he does close his eyes.

I loved in Search that after Blake knocks a Federation trooper out and takes off, Vila came back to check if the guy was alright. I think that if it weren't for Blake's influence, Vila wouldn't have hurt anyone, not even with neutron blasters and if Vila ever saw face-to-face the violence and destruction caused by the weapons, he would refuse to do it anymore. Which is the way I have written him in my stories.

Oh yes. It's only on the nice clear DVDs that I saw that knifing wasn't accidental; I thought the priest had backed into the knife in the darkness before that. Yes, Vila is shocked, and I don't think he'd use the neutron blasters either if he saw the what it did to people rather than ships.
