Hmm, I think I'll do a fic where Blake is finally made to pay for all the evil things he did in the name of being good and the self-serving things he did.

And maybe one where Vila finally has to face the music for betraying everyone in Hostage and trying to dump Avon, Cally and Blake at Star One and Tarrant later, all just to save his own neck. I wonder if that went through Avon's mind in Orbit.

There are far too many fics where Avon is made to pay for his sins. You almost get the idea that he was the only one who did anything bad and the others were all his victims.

Well it's time to have a little parity. Just fair warning. If you don't feel like reading then don't. I'm going to write them anyway.

Well, no one takes him seriously. The only one who takes him seriously about anything, ironically, is Avon. Vila certainly is serious about wanting to abandon Tarrant and Dayna in "Traitor." Vila is so damn likable that people tend to see him as nice. The truth is that he doesn't have your back, and Avon knows it, and I think that plays into what happens in "Orbit" a bit.

Yup. I have always noticed that too. Avon was the only one who took Vila seriously as a person, not just as a pair of hands that could open locks and operate the neutron blasters. Yes, Avon could be nasty to Vila too but it's one where he takes the time and effort to be funny in the negative comments. To me, that means that he actually likes Vila even though he may detest some things about him. I think Avon knew Vila could not be trusted to have his back. Hostage, Star One, Traitor and Assassin would have told him that. But I think Avon liked Vila and wanted to be able to trust him so he, against reason, takes Vila down with him time and again for support. But I do think that in Orbit, those past incidents would have preyed on Avon's mind and may partially explain why Avon seems jumpy, as if he expects Vila to jump out at him, when he goes through the corridors of the shuttle in Orbit.
