Levels of insanity

Sometimes I think I'm going crazy. I still can't get this writing obsession under control. I know it's only been 4 months, but really...

When it comes to the point where characters hijack the storyline and insist on going off and doing their own things, and thus causing me to have to rewrite huge sections of the story in order to accomodate them...argh

When I'm still doing story stuff even when I'm on the plane and have only slept 4 hours in the last 36...it's getting to be a bit much.

When I have resolved to take a day and not do any story stuff...and then find myself coming up with story titles or doing synopsis for the stories instead...did I say I was going crazy already???

Unfortunately at this point, it's too late to stop. I'm the kind of person who will not leave things partially finished. I am planning to end the current story series at 7 (at least that's the plan), then start a new series which takes place afterwards and will have a different focus...ok I didn't say that...

But I must admit, other than the crazy aspects of it, it has been alot of fun...

Yes - having never done anything like this in the past - even when I was at school and meant to I find myself doing Buffy-Spike stories in my head ... and in fact 4 are up on sites and another couple are getting put together.

Still if we can't obsess on Avon or Spike, what is the world coming to?

Still if we can't obsess on Avon or Spike, what is the world coming to? That's true...

Unlike with the Buffyverse which is much more recent, most people here aren't new to B7 and I am imagining that people have probably gotten over their obsessive need to write B7 stories along time ago? Sometimes I feel decades too late and wish I had this obsession when most people still had theirs and they still felt like discussing it.

I'm guessing you get alot more response with Buffy than with B7?

Yes - The Buffy side is very active - I only got into it as the series finished ... but it is still busy ... and splits into a lot of

Buffy / Spike
Buffy / Angel
Spike / Angel

Some of the writers that wrote stuff when the series was first on air have gone now - but there are some great people out there and a huge fandom.

I got into Blake when it was on TV and then when they brought the first "part" videos out in 1985 is when I discovered "Horizon" and fandom ... There were some great mags produced by them, and some great story-zines as well. So B7 was my first taste of fandom ... I am so glad to have re-discovered it through LiveJournal ... and to see Horizon is now web based.

Have you found that web site - and which communities have you found on LJ?

Have you found that web site - and which communities have you found on LJ?

I have found "Horizon" though I haven't joined it.

LJ is really my first foray into fan stuff.

For LJ communities, I've joined b7fic, b7ficandfilk, b7recs, and blakes7.

I've only posted on b7fic. Loved all the stories available there.
