Avon examines

I did once date a post in the future and then make it private to keep it on the top of my flist & remind me not to forget to cheer when Bush was no longer in office.

But that's as much as I figured out.

Drat! It didn't work. The time came and past and no second post.

Did you read this FAQ?

And did you click the 'Date out of Order' option? If you DID click it, then try it again, with it NOT clicked.

I've tried it with 'Date out of Order' clicked and not clicked. With it clicked, the post doesn't show up at all. With it not clicked, the post shows up right away, which defeats the idea of having it postdated =P

I'm not sure it does- it may be that it ONLY shows up for you and not on people's flists. Try it again with it not clicked, set forward past today, and showing up for you, and I'll see if I see it on my flist.

(sorry, I got confused)

Ok. I'll try that.

Let me know when you can see it & I'll look for it.
18th-Jul-2009 01:11 am (UTC)
Sigh. It's past the time and I still can't see it on my flist =P

I just posted one with a date out of order clicked on and set 2 minutes into the future. It showed up immediately for me.

This is a useless feature.
18th-Jul-2009 01:18 am (UTC)
Yes, that's what happened with mine.
18th-Jul-2009 01:20 am (UTC)
Ahah. You know what? It doesn't work on flists, because I can't see it there. What it works on is your journal. So you have to look at your journal itself to see it. Really, what good is that? The whole point of LJ is SOCIAL NETWORKING, like SHOWING the stuff to your flist.

18th-Jul-2009 01:21 am (UTC)
Try looking directly at my journal and see if you see it.
18th-Jul-2009 01:26 am (UTC)
I see this one:
"hi. posted at 21:16 with a date out of order of 21:18"
18th-Jul-2009 01:35 am (UTC)
That's it. So, the date out of order makes posts that you can only see when looking at the journal itself. *humph*

Bugger all useless for our purposes.

Sigh. Yes. Blech.
