It doesn't matter how much warning we were given on the news, it was still a shock to my system this morning to look out the window and see white. Lots of white. Argh. Snow everywhere. I am never mentally, physically or emotionally prepared for that first day that signals that all life has ended until next spring. Which appears years away at the moment.
Why is it that when you walk outside in the stuff, it always seems like much more has fallen then they declare on the radio? 5 centimeters in meteorological terms translates to 10 centimeters in RL? Or just where I'm walking? Grrr.
Fortunately, I live in a condo now and don't have the hassle of having to shovel the snow or clearing it off my car. It does look nice from my window. Frosty trees and all those cars trying to inch through traffic. Oh wait, I have to be out there soon too... Why oh why didn't I ask if I could work from home today?
Yes, I'm a wimp when it comes to weather. Seriously though, it wasn't that bad this morning. The drive in only took an extra 10 minutes. I got in safely to work and didn't see any accidents on the road. A lot of desks are empty. So either they are still stuck in the winter traffic or they were the smart ones that did ask to work from home today!
Not sure how my mood will affect my writing today...I'm in a very strange mood. - Tags:rl

Now that sounds more like it.
Try our miserable wet winters where the air's so damp you can't get properly warm.
But after 40+ years of having to shovel it for hours on end in order to get out of a driveway or slip-sliding all over the road hoping to get to work in one piece, it does lose it's shine after awhile. It's sort of like going to a nice hotel. Which is nice and enjoyable except when you have to spend 6 months in one. By then the novelty factor has definitely worn off and you can't wait to get out of there =)
I revert to being a kid a gain and skip if it's snowing.
I do understand other people not liking it though.
Well it does explain your "Let it Snow" fic.
